After earning a Medical Degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, they completed an OB-GYN residency at the University of Nevada, Reno, followed by a specialized fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Hawaii.
With a background that includes a Master of Education, Dr. Akiyama prioritizes clear communication and patient education. They believe that helping families understand the "why" behind their care plan is essential to achieving the best possible health outcomes for both mother and baby.
